About

SHINE Community Services is managed by a voluntary Board of Management.

All clients must be  assessed for eligibility. To be eligible for Home and Community Care (HACC) services a client must be aged, or a frail aged person or a younger person with a disability, or carers of either group. Eligible clients must have a difficulty in performing essential daily living tasks.

Our home support service clients must be assessed as having an ongoing moderate to severe functioning disability that prevents them from carrying out their daily living tasks.

Our services are provided through a wellness approach. This means that our support workers aim for a balance of “doing with” rather than “doing for” and thus building clients’ self-esteem, so they retain their ability to manage day to day life and enjoy doing so. Our aim is to promote independence and well-being by only carrying out tasks that people are unable to perform themselves, or are not advised to do so.

Funding – SHINE Community Services is funded and supported by the combined councils of Claremont, Cottesloe, Peppermint Grove and Mosman Park together with the Home and Community Care program (HACC).
